Bye week: Bye-bye, Dallas!

What a great game yesterday and enjoying the whining of the Dallas-loving commentators was priceless!

Right Move With Shockey

Whatever doubt I may have had about the Shockey deal has been eliminated. He is now out 6 weeks with a sports hernia surgery.

Close Call!!!

Yesterday was a close call, for sure, but was probably a great learning experience. It seems to me that in many ways the Bengals did what we should think about doing in the future. On offense, even though they nickled and dimed us with short stuff ,it was made possible by them spreading the field with their great wideouts. This caused confusion for our db's and lb's(better tackling by our lb's would have helped, too). On offense we did not stretch the field ,till the end. Therefore, even "Earth" had a problem with the box being clogged up...when this happens again I think we should go to "Wind" and "Fire "much sooner. Also, not spreading the field puts a lot of pressure on Eli to be really precise. He did not have his best day ,but came through like a champ, largly due to our great offensive line. Not spreading the field also, makes it hard on our receivers to run tight routes. All in all ,though, hats off to this team...this is a game we would have lost in years past. They play with great confidence when they need a play.

Road Warriors Rough Up Rams

NY Post:
"Featuring their outrageous depth, the Giants unleashed the likes of Ahmad Bradshaw and Domenik Hixon and scored three touchdowns in less than four minutes to close out a 41-13 dismantling of the Rams in a game at times workmanlike in its efficiency and at times dizzying in its domination."

Strahan's Debut on NFL on Fox

The NFL on Fox had a great introduction with Michael Strahan portraying himself as a Giant football player, a retired football player, and finally in a suit as a member of the panel with Curt, Terry, Howie and Jimmy. Hope you all saw it!!

They showed a clip from 2004 when Terry interviewed Michael and asked him "When you retire do you want a TV career or a villa on the beach?" His answer in '04 became reality yesterday. He did a wonderful job and is an asset to the show.

Always great to get the first game in the win column--particularly against a division rival. Way to go, G-Men!
Oh, by the way, this is fun!

What an opener!

Brandon Jacobs plows over LaRon Landry.
If you haven't seen it by now, then chances are you can still hear the buzz over Giants Stadium echoing the sound from when the New York Giants' Brandon Jacobs rocked every ounce of dignity out of LaRon Landry's pads.

But in the event you still need to see it (and again, and again...), then be sure to check out the eternally looped clip on NFL-Giants.com.

That play right there is getting more attention from New York Giants bloggers than anything else last night, the only exception being the obvious win.
